My role
Product Designer
My work
Pre-product research, pitch strategy, presentation design, concept mock ups, end to end flow-charting, wireframes, prototyping, visual identity exploration, style guide creation, IOS UI design, engineering hand-offs, bug-testing, marketing landing page.
The project
The team at Pastel had engineered a method to predict expenses simply by connecting your bank account from a previous project. Pastel wanted to use this innovation to create a product that would make paying shared monthly expenses easier.
The problem
Career oriented individuals sharing a living space with others can easily get so caught up in their own lives that the monthly ritual of making sure every roommates pays their expenses on time can be annoying. People forget all the time and having to be the person to police everyone else is frustrating.
The solution
Pastel.fi wants you to "set it and forget it" by allowing all roommates to opt in to automatically withdrawn payments where everyone is held accountable and notified if something goes wrong.
My impact
My initial contributions were in the inception of Pastel. I was brought in early as the voice of UX strategy and to help create mock ups and pitch decks to generate interest in Pastel to investors.  I would then go on to iterate on wireframes and prototypes until we landed on our desired flow and create high fidelity screens and components for our engineers to develop an early build of Pastel as a proof of concept. As the product matured, I designed our first pass at a visual identity.
